DLOn-road prices for Delhi

Changes road tax, registration and the on-road budget.

Rates effective 1 Jul 2026 · last updated 15 Aug 2026

Assumptions

  • Rates are for a vehicle registered in an individual's name. A company-registered vehicle is taxed at a higher rate and is not modelled.
  • CNG and strong/plug-in hybrid vehicles are taxed at the petrol rate. The Delhi schedule surcharges diesel only, and the 2026 EV policy gives hybrids no concession.
  • Delhi also collects a one-time MCD parking charge at registration. No current official tariff could be verified, so it is excluded — the real counter price is higher by that amount.
  • A battery electric vehicle priced above Rs 30 lakh gets no state exemption (EV Policy 2026 clause 4.7.3) and pays the ordinary rate for its price band, with no diesel surcharge. The central registration-fee exemption for battery-operated vehicles is a separate instrument and still applies.
